Gandhi Sangrahalaya

Gandhi Sangrahalaya is a Gandhian museum which highlights the work of Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Though not so popular among the visiting destination, one should try to spend some time in this quiet place, understanding the life of the Mahatma.

View from the entrance gate. The Sangrahalaya is situated in the North-West Corner of the Gandhi Maidan. One can easily reach here from any part of the city.

India of my dreams - A Message by Mahatma Gandhi

Gandhi Sangrahalaya - India of My Dreams

[In English : I shall strive for a constitution, which will release India from all thralldom and patronage, and give her, if needed be, the right to sin, I shall work for an India, in which the poorest shall it is their country in whose making they have an effective voice; an India in which there shall be no high class and low class of people; an India in which all communities shall live in perfect harmony. There can be no room in such an India for the curse of untouchability or the curse of the intoxicating drinks and drugs. Women will enjoy the same right as men. Since we shall not be at peace with all the rest of the world, exploiting, nor being exploited, we should have the smallest army imaginable .....
